3rd Grade:

Our 3rd graders completed their third lesson in Unit 4 today. We skipped several lessons in this unit that will be covered after MSP testing. Students went over lesson 4, 6 and 7 in this unit, covering triangles & diagonals, polygons, and transformations (rotation, reflection, & translation).

Today we talked about how a rotation is a “turn” or “spin” of a figure, a translation is a “slide” and a reflection is a “flip”. In all 3 of these transformations, the figure does not change size or shape. They will always come out with congruent figure. Please practice these transformations with your child.
